Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to all work commissioned from Scandi Origins, the trading name of Linda Stammers, a sole trader based in Poole, Dorset, United Kingdom. By accepting a quote you agree to these terms. If anything here is unclear, please ask before confirming your order — we are always happy to explain.
1. Quotes and orders
All quotes are provided in writing and are valid for 30 days. A quote becomes a binding order when you confirm acceptance in writing (including by email) and pay the deposit referred to below. Because every piece is made to order, specifications, fabrics and prices are confirmed at the point of order.
2. Bespoke, made-to-measure work
Our curtains, blinds, cushions, upholstery and marine interiors are made to your individual specification. As bespoke goods made to your requirements, they are exempt from the 14-day cancellation right that normally applies to distance and off-premises purchases under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Once work has begun or materials have been ordered on your behalf, an order cannot be cancelled without charge.
3. Deposits and payment
A deposit — normally 50% of the quoted price — is payable on confirmation of your order and covers design time, materials and the reservation of making time in the studio. The balance is payable on completion, before or at the time of delivery or fitting. Payment terms will be confirmed on your quote or invoice.
Title in the goods remains with Scandi Origins until payment has been received in full.
4. Fabrics and materials
Where fabrics or materials are supplied by us, they are as described in your quote. Natural materials may show slight variations in colour, texture and grain, and slight batch-to-batch variation can occur between samples and finished pieces — this is a characteristic of natural and artisan materials, not a defect. Where you supply your own fabric, we will advise if we consider it unsuitable, but responsibility for its performance and suitability remains with you.
5. Measurements
Where we measure your space or vessel, we take responsibility for the accuracy of those measurements. Where measurements are supplied by you or a third party, we will make to those measurements but cannot accept responsibility for their accuracy.
6. Timescales
We will give you an estimated completion date with your quote and keep you informed of progress. Timescales depend on fabric availability and workshop schedules and are estimates; we will always let you know promptly if anything changes.
7. Delivery and fitting
Delivery and fitting arrangements are agreed per project and confirmed in your quote. You are responsible for ensuring reasonable access to the space at the agreed time. We take care of your home or vessel while working in it and hold appropriate public liability insurance.
8. Your statutory rights
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If any piece is faulty, not as described, or not made with reasonable care and skill, we will repair or replace it, or offer an appropriate refund, in line with the law. Please tell us as soon as possible if something is not right.
9. Care and aftercare
Care guidance is provided with your finished pieces. Following it will keep them looking their best; we cannot accept responsibility for damage caused by cleaning or use contrary to the guidance provided.
10. Design and intellectual property
Designs, drawings and patterns created by Scandi Origins remain our intellectual property unless otherwise agreed in writing. We may photograph completed work for our portfolio; we will never identify your address or personal details without your permission.
11. Liability
Our liability for any claim arising from our work is limited to the price paid for the goods or services concerned, except where liability cannot be limited by law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
