Who we are

Scandi Origins is the trading name of Linda Stammers, a sole trader providing interior design, soft furnishings and marine upholstery from a studio in Poole, Dorset, United Kingdom. For the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, Linda Stammers trading as Scandi Origins is the data controller.

What personal data we collect

When you contact us or commission work, we may collect and hold:

  • Your name, email address, telephone number and, where needed, your address.
  • Details you share about your project — the type of space, its location, measurements, and any photographs or plans you choose to send us.
  • Records of our correspondence with you, including emails, enquiry-form messages and notes of calls or site visits.
  • Invoices, quotes and payment records where you become a client (bank details are handled by our bank or payment provider and are not stored on this website).

How we use your data and our lawful bases

  • Responding to enquiries — to answer your questions and prepare quotes. Lawful basis: legitimate interests, and steps taken at your request before entering a contract.
  • Delivering commissioned work — to design, make, deliver and fit your pieces, and to manage payment. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.
  • Keeping accounts and records — to meet our tax and accounting obligations. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
  • Occasional follow-up — we may contact past clients about aftercare or related work. Lawful basis: legitimate interests. You can opt out at any time.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for third-party marketing.

Who we share it with

We share personal data only where necessary to run the business — for example with our accountant, our bank or payment provider, couriers or fitters working on your project, and professional advisers where required. Each receives only the information needed for that purpose.

How long we keep it

Enquiry correspondence that does not lead to work is normally deleted within 12 months. Where you become a client, project and invoice records are kept for up to six years after the work is completed, to meet UK tax, accounting and limitation requirements.

Cookies and analytics

This website does not set marketing or advertising cookies and does not track you across other websites. If measurement or analytics tools are added in future, we will update this page and, where required, ask for your consent first.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Ask us to delete your data, where we have no legal obligation to keep it.
  • Object to, or restrict, how we use your data.
  • Ask for your data in a portable format.
