From Stockholm via California, to Poole.
I grew up in a Stockholm suburb, where at a young age my mother taught me to sew whilst she knitted beautiful Norwegian ‘Lusekofta’. My father instilled in me a passion for using my hands to craft beautiful items. As a traditional Swedish man, he had a somewhat direct mantra that went along the lines of “if it isn’t right you put an axe in it and start again.” While I don’t follow his need to use an axe, his drive for perfection still influences my work today.
I started designing and making clothing at a very early age and in my teens I went to an Art & Design High School as well as making costumes for theatre productions. A move from Sweden to the UK coincided with an entry into commercial design and fabrication, making luxury interiors for UK-based powerboat company, Sunseeker. I then took newly honed skills for luxury fittings and robust finishing that I’d learned with Sunseeker into the home interior design space, designing and crafting bespoke solutions bringing homes to life, and helping people feel joyful in their living spaces. Most recently, I’ve been working with a business that makes exclusive soft furnishing solutions for clients in Pebble Beach and Carmel, California.
Today, after six years in California, I’m based once again in Poole, Dorset, where my passion for creating beautiful items along clean Swedish lines is renewed and influenced by the power of the ocean that surrounds us. I take deep joy in helping make peoples’ homes beautiful places to live in. I also love fueling my passion for the ocean, working with like-minded customers to refurbish marine upholstery using the skills I learned at Sunseeker to create immaculate, hard-wearing solutions.
If you have an interior design or soft furnishings project, whether in your home or afloat I’d love to hear from you and see how I can help.
